New Patient Information – Staten Island, NY

Helping You Get Started
at Our Dental Office

Setting the tone for your future dental visits is very important to us, which is why Dr. Gizachew and his team want your first visit to our dental office to be a positive one! Below, you can read over the most important information to help you get started, including what you can expect at your new patient appointment, financing options, and other ways you can prepare. If you have questions, please give our dental office a call directly.

Your First Visit

After you check in at our front desk, we’re happy to give you a brief tour of the dental office as we eventually move towards completing your exam and cleaning. At the end of the day, we want to gain a clear picture of your oral health and address any concerns that require attention. From there, we will share our findings with you, provide recommendations for treatment, then work with you to determine the best long-term treatment plan. At the final step of your appointment, you’ll discuss the financial details of your care with our team.

New Patient Forms

We ask all patients to complete new patient forms at the initial visit because they provide us with important context regarding your oral and overall health. They also tell us what to keep in mind during your initial exam and whether or not we need to focus on specific areas of your mouth that you may be concerned about. If you’d like to save time at your first visit, please download the forms from our website and complete them at home. By doing so and bringing them to the dental office, you can save at least 20 minutes in our waiting area!

Dental Insurance Welcome

With dental insurance, you can gain access to many dental treatments that you might not have been able to access previously due to out-of-pocket costs. NU Dental Staten Island is happy to be in-network with multiple dental plans as well as accept out-of-network insurance providers. Prior to your first appointment, we ask that you call us with your insurance information to prepare. This allows us to explain your benefits to you directly. We’re happy to employ a team of dental professionals with many years of experience working with insurance companies. They’re glad to handle essential paperwork and save you money along the way.

Financing Available

Whether you don’t have dental insurance, or your plan did not cover all of your dental costs for a specific treatment, third-party financing can be a big help. If this is the case, CareCredit is a great option worth considering. Instead of paying for treatment in one lump sum, you can pay for it across multiple payments over several months. There are many low-to-no interest plans to choose from, making it easy to fit it into your monthly budget. Start by applying for CareCredit right here in our dental office or online at the link below.
